Acne Fighting Routine

Who doesn't want to have a clear flawless skin? Most of adult population have experienced fighting acne, or more like zits. Even though acne is not a life threatening condition, it can impact your life, it can trigger insecurities and self esteem. For me personally, I have suffered acne since I was in university.

My every night acne fighting routine.

However, lately I've got zits and I guess it was because of makeup, bad diet and my poor sleeping schedule. So remember to remove your makeup properly and eat lesser fast food. I don't even eat veggies *sorry, it's a bad habit* I've been a picky eater ever since I was a child. I still remember the days I could spend hours just to eat my meals. Anyway, I am trying to change my lifestyle to eat more green, but not at home! Some veggies that I sometimes eat are like lettuce, broccoli, cucumber, kai-lan and spinach. I eat kimchi too at Korean BBQ. Other than that, I'll have a hard time to swallow T^T

Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Water

I bought this altogether with the AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Spot and 30 pieces of cotton swabs for IDR 135k. This bottle was made of plastic and contains 15 ml of a Caladine-like water. It smells refreshing to me, even if you're new to spot treatment, I bet you can handle this kind of smell. I use this after washing my face and remember to always shake the bottle. Although it's said that it can be used during the day before makeup application, I found that the white powder marked my zits and ended up looking weird because my CC cream couldn't cover it. So I use this during the day only when I just stay at home.

Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Spot

Just like the name, it's really pink! It's a non comedogenic and formulated with salicylic acid and hinoki cypress. It smells like herbal medicine, but honestly, this acne spot treatment has the most tolerable smell from all the similar products I've ever used. Not to mention, it sticks to my skin really well, so it won't stain my pillow the next morning. I would definitely repurchase this item.

A glass bottle and it's for 12 months usage. YAY!

Oh, unlike the water one, do not shake the bottle! Allow the powder to settle and the bottom. That's why you would need a cotton swab to dip it. I use this after washing my face and applying my toner - emulsion - essence every night. This product has amazingly lessen my zits in three weeks. I'd recommend this to those who have acne prone skin.

Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Patch

I actually wrote a review of this kind of product back in 2013, kindly read it here, you can find the review at the end of the post. I was actually shocked when I was at the cashier 'cause I bought this for IDR 48k, LOL. I thought the price would be about the same with The Face Shop and Tony Moly. Despite of the price, it works just the same. The strip contains 14 different size of patches. I don't think I'd repurchase this anymore, it's too expensive for a spot patch. I guess I'd just stick with Tony Moly.

The patch is really clear when I put it to my bare face.

Besides using all the products above, I still use Bedak Saripohatji regularly. I've cut the usage down to once or twice a week, I used to wear this mask every night before sleeping, but I'm afraid it'd make my skin dry. FYI, I am currently using it while writing this post :D

Anyway, fighting acne can leave scars. I have some brown spots on my face because of these zits *sigh* Thanks to makeup we can cover them. However, there are some treatments too to fades the brown spots, such as home remedies or laser. I prefer home remedies, though. It's cheaper, slowly but sure.

MBLAQ - Our Relationship.

Though I'm not a fan of MBLAQ, I find their 6th mini album interesting after watching the MV teaser for this song. Do you like it too?

  4. Although I haven't personally tried any of these products, they all look interesting, especially the Etude House AC Clinic Intense Pink Powder Spot! I can't believe it's actually pink and it looks like calamine lotion lol. I'm also curious about spot patches since I've never tried them before :P Do they actually help?

Thanks for the post! It was helpful for a normal teenager like me struggling with acne :)

  6. That's why I never buy Etude's products from their counter--they are waaaaaay too expensive. I have used The Body Shop Tea Tree-something to medicate acne, the packaging and the applicator looked like lip tint. It didn't work at all to me but it worked great on my friend!

My skin is acne-prone, maybe I should consider giving Etude another chance with this.

    1. My pleasure, dear. The product's called Dr. Tony AC Control Spot Patch. Actually, Etude House prices are considered inexpensive if you buy it online (because the resellers don't pay taxes) or in Korea :)

  11. Don't worry about your food dear. You can eat greasy pizza all you want--the grease is digested and broken up in your digestion system; it does not go to your pores (only your stomach :P). Have you tried washing your pillowcases and brushes? That helped me a lot actually! I used antibacterial dish soap to wash my makeup brushes.

I know you said you're having scarring--I recommend Mizon Mark X After Blemish Care. I wrote the review on my blog a long long time ago so a lot of people didn't see it, but recently I suggested it on Reddit and another girl bought it/loved it too! My friend just ordered a jar after I gave her a sample she loved. :) It will help a lot with acne that is currently healing, especially right after you pop something because the plants help prevent scar formation; I read somewhere centella asiatica also breaks down scar tissue. To additionally fade your scars, I recently discovered licorice helps just as much as vitamin C does to fade scars! Anyway just trying to help. =) I used these products too actually but I can never tell if those spot patches work haha.

    1. OMG thanks dear for all the advices! I don't regularly wash my makeup brush, I got so lazy :S this could be one of the reasons the zits don't go away. I'm checking out the Mizon Mark X cream right now!
About the patches, besides reducing my redness, the patches also prevents myself from directly touching the pimple (I have this bad habit touching my own pimples LOL). Anyway, thank you so much for letting me know about these facts! It really helps me in the future to find out the perfect acne fighting products. Loves xx
