Flash of Beauty

Hello my wonderful bumblebees! This time, I want to share my current favorite item to you. If you have read my Q&A post, you'll see that I share some beauty products with my mom. I grabbed this item from her vanity because I was extremely curious as everyone raved about it. Anyway, it's a great find because I totally love this gem to the max!

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

Product descriptions: The ultimate pick-me-up for tired, stressed skin — Clarins’ brightening balm eliminates signs of fatigue in a flash! Instantly moisturizes and tightens facial contours so skin looks rested and relaxed. Olive and Witch Hazel extracts help smooth the skin’s surface — diffusing the look of lines and wrinkles. Soothing Bisabolol helps restore skin’s youthful glow. Also acts as a make-up base or primer for perfect make-up application and hours of luminous wear.

Moreover, it has received so many awards, such as Winner of Best in Beauty Icon, Winner of Best Instant Skin Perfector, Winner of Best Treatment Product, Winner of Allure magazine's 'Best of Beauty' award for Best Instant Brightener for three consecutive years and it got featured in The Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible. Last but not least, this product is sold once every 20 minutes worldwide.

The light beige color turns transparent when it's blended.

Directions: Morning or evening, after thorough cleansing and toning, apply (without massaging or rubbing) a very thin layer over the face, neck and eye area. Apply make-up immediately, if desired. Beauty Flash Balm can also be used as a facial mask 2 or 3 times a week.

Lisa Eldgride once reviewed and explained how to use the balm. I use it exactly the same way as hers, after applying my moisturizer and before applying my makeup. So yeah, this is basically a ‘primer’ for me.

Another little tip, since this product is pretty expensive, you would want to completely experience the maximum benefit of it, right? Leave it on for 10 minutes before applying makeup. This will allow the product to settle in your skin and you'll feel the tightening sensation.

I am definitely not a morning person. I sleep late, my sleeping schedule sucks and I know it's not healthy but anyway, whenever I have to wake up early in the morning (the time I'd probably just get like a few hours of sleep or not at all), I would apply this thing and ta-ra, I look more human. LOL.

What I like:
  • does what it claims
  • helps to smooth my skin for better makeup application
  • helps makeup to stay on longer
  • controls oil on T-zone
  • gives a radiant finish
  • nice fragrance
  • rich texture – a little goes along the way
  • allergy-tested and non-comedogenic
What I dislike:
  • can be tricky to apply
Price: IDR 530k per 50ml

Here I present to you, my makeup look with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm! With neither foundation nor BB cream being used at all. I honestly like the result, and think that maybe I don't have to buy BB creams anymore LOL/JK.

As if one selfie is not enough!

Others product that I used:
Face:
Eyes:
Lips:
Yes, I am using three kind of concealers from different brands. I use Za for covering my dark spot, The Body Shop for covering my acne, and Revlon for the under eye areas (sorry that you still be able to see my dark circles, I didn't get to sleep lately plus the shade I own is not lighter than my skin tone, duh!). I love this kind of light makeup, you know how heavy wearing foundation is, that's probably why I have never bought one! And sometimes BB creams also have thick texture like the Etude House Cotton Fit BB Cream. If you are curious how to cover all the imperfections, check this video by Jen! She explained everything thoroughly and gave such great tips. Don't you just want to buy all of her concealers?? Gotta save up my pocket money for that MUFE!

Hope you enjoy your weekend, my bumblebees!

  6. This product really looks interesting. I think the most tricky part is the price XD but I guess, there's no cheap price for a great skin care, right?

I completely agree with you on Etude BB cream. I used another one, not the one that you mentioned, and it's very thick.

    1. Yes, too bad it's expensive! However, I don't use this in daily basis. Just when I need a little pick-me-up :P Do you mean the Bright Fit one? It actually has lighter texture. The Cotton Fit one is thicker and a bit powdery 'cause it's supposed to give a matte look and better coverage, but lately I prefer the dewy finish to the matte one LOL.

    2. No, the old version. Precious Mineral BB cream, I don't think they release it anymore. I was kinda afraid to buy another Etude BB cream after that one because it's too thick and my sensitive skin got itchy^^ Dewy finish is quite a trend these days. I guess I need to try dewy look too :D

(Skincare is so expensive though ;-;) I don't know too much about Clarins, to be honest, so hearing of how many awards this product has won is a bit of a surprise. I do like that this is a multitasking product though!

To answer your question, yes my dolls are Pullips. The boy is a Taeyang. It makes life easy that they fit Barbie and Ken clothes. I buy most of their clothes from eBay and sometimes from the 99 cent store :) My girl doll has a few Blythe pieces as well.

    1. Hi, thank you dear :) I've posted about my acne fighting routine at http://felishmichelle.blogspot.com/2014/03/acne-fighting-routine.html. Maybe you can check it out and find it helpful. To prevent my skin from breaking out, I always seek the doctor to get chemical peeling. Because, a facial treatment only cleanse your whiteheads and blackheads, it won't help to prevent the future zits. So yeah, I'd rather get the chemical peeling than the regular facial, though it hurts. However, if you have terrible bad acne, you shouldn't do the chem-peel.
And another little tip, if you use night cream, don't forget to cleanse your face first with a milk cleanser in the morning (or just a cleanser will do, I use the one from Clarins, review: http://felishmichelle.blogspot.com/2014/03/daily-cleansing-routine.html). After that, you can wash your face. Then, continue with toner, essence and cream :D You can email me if you want to know where I did the chem-peel ^^

    2. thankyou so much <3 i found your reply helpful, next time i'll try chem-peel (if my mom give me permission), i don't have terrible bad acne but still i really hate having pimples on my face.
gonna read your posts now! :)
