[Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I received the product for a review purpose, but the opinions are my own based on my experience.]

YAY! A new product from Etude House that was launched in April 2014. I was so excited that I got this Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light from Kbeautysecrets. It is a new improved formula from the previous Face Conditioning Cream and is more specialized for oily-combination skin. My skin is oily on the T-zone area and normal on the U-area. That's why I am very curious to try whether this product does what it claims or not.

Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light
Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light SPF 25/PA++

Product description: A multifunction cream for natural makeup and skincare at one time. This is a quick and easy makeup boosting cream that smoothly conditions skin with its light and soft texture for a makeup-ready complexion.

Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light review
Just like usual Korean products, this is the only English description I can found on the packaging yet very informative.

I am a person who prefers tube or pump packaging to the jar ones for the sake of hygiene. Therefore, I am glad this one doesn't come in jar. The tube's material feels so similar to toothpaste tubes, but thinner and more squeezable. Hopefully you get what I mean :P

What it promises:
  • It supplies silky & light elasticity to the skin and forms soft but elastic layers.
  • It improves adhesive texture to promote moist, radiant looking skin.
  • It supplies moist on inner skin depending on skin condition.
  • It absorbs too much sebum.
  • Rich moisturizing texture that spreads softly on the skin and makes the skin look healthy & elastic since it is adhesive to the skin tightly.
The cream has white appearance but it becomes translucent once it's blended properly and absorbs to the skin. It only takes a couple of seconds to absorb fully, and it has a dewy finish that doesn't feel sticky, instead it feels so light, moisturizing and smooth! I like the fact that it controls my oily T-zone, my blotting paper doesn't look as terrible as usual. I use this before my Etude House CC Cream, btw.

Etude House Face Conditioning Cream Light review
Somewhat runny consistency.

Also another good point, it offers SPF 25 with physical ingredient, which is titanium dioxide (please read my post titled Sun Screen Protection to understand why I choose physical ingredient over the chemical one). It doesn't state how many percent is the active ingredient, though.

Directions: After skin care, apply an appropriate amount on the face and pat lightly. For better absorption, wrap over your face with your palms.

With Face Conditioning Cream Light.
Oh, I wish you could tell how smooth it is only by judging the picture.

Basically, this cream acts as a primer for me, it's good at oil control, makes my skin smooth and gives the radiant looking. However, as it is a cosmetic that provides smooth application with such affordable price. I spot they are using silicones in their ingredient (let me just point out silica, as the other ones are too difficult to spell LOL). Do I hate silicone-based product? No, not really, but do I dislike? Well, I wish it didn't contain silicones because I am afraid it will clog my pores and break out my skin. So far, there's no such allergic reaction on my skin, no dryness, no slight irritation as well. I will update this post if something unpleasant happens in the future, but I hope nooot! xD

What I like:
  • easy to blend and quick absorption
  • moisturizing my skin without making it look shiny or feel sticky
  • smooth finish that helps applying makeup so much easier
  • controls excess sebum on oily skin yet hydrates the skin at the same time
  • nice fragrance
What I dislike:
  • contains silicones
Price: IDR 147k

  5. pretty mich!! this is the new formula for conditioning cream right ^^ I only learn about this product now that it's more for combination skin XD I still use the original (previous release) one and I have the same concern with silica though it hasn't broke me out yet. I think the finish is pretty much the same but this one has better oil control? Still it's really nice to read a review on this product as I really love the original one too ^^ Maybe I'll try this out once mine runs out :D Thank you for your review ^^

  53. U-area? That's a new term I've never heard of before :D
This product sounds really promising, considering that I'm currently giving primers another try. I really do like that it has SPF, since now that I think about it, the mattifying primers I'm testing out don't have SPF, but then again, I do go over with a BB cream with SPF anyways. I think silicones in cosmetics are inevitable though, since a lot of primers have them, but I'm still on the fence about how I feel about them on the skin.

  59. So is it like a moisturizer? I thought it was another CC Cream or something from Etude House. I super love the packaging! I'm still using Etude's Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer, I don't really love it but it's all natural ingredients and pretty decent (although it could melt when it's too hot) sooo yeah I decided not to throw it away!

  63. Hi Mitch, thanks for your review and lovely pictures xxx
Your skin looks stunning!!! I guess a few million people already commented that to you ;)))

Most of Etude House Face Conditioning reviews focus on the Original version (the blue one). So I was happy when I found yours about the Light version!

Here is my experience with that cream, I tested a sample.

Essentially, that cream has a light velvety texture and delivers a mochi skin finish. What's not to love about it?
It's been a while I haven't been impressed by a day cream! I haven't experienced this kind of consistency before, it's really agreeable to the touch.

It absorbs quickly into a powdery finish - yet it is not drying at all.
I would however recommend applying a serum / light moisturiser beforehand, especially if you have dry to combination skin like me.

My T zone didn't shine for a few hours, thus making this product suitable for warmer days.
The other remarkable fact is that despite being a SPF/ SPA day cream, it doesn't leave any white cast.
My face looked matte but not lifeless. On the contrary, this cream seemed to brighten my skin and gave that lovely, enviable mochi hada effect!

But before buying the regular size product, I prefer to consult bloggers and check the ingredients.

Now the bad news TT. Unfortunately, alcohol is on the 6th position in the ingredient list.
Since there's no paraben in the formula, I assume they're using alcohol and fragrance instead to preserve the product.
Alcohol may be very irritating and virtually burn your skin. A tiny percentage might be ok though. Since alcohol is pretty high on the list its proportion may vary from 15% up to 30% (worst case scenario!)
My sensitive skin hasn't felt any discomfort at all though, so fingers crossed, I really hope the alcohol % remains reasonable!

Is there a scientist/ chemist/ pharmacist/ dermatologist who can help????? I researched and couldn't find more info, only assumptions.

Meanwhile, I sent a message to Etude House asking them to clarify my concerns.

Note that the Etude House Face Conditioning Original (the blue one) has a kinda cleaner formula, with coconut oil in the middle of the list. This ingredient cannot be found in the Light pink version, although coconut oil has been touted in the ads as an hero???

That's it, I'm having a dilemma!!! I love the fantastic effect this cream does on my skin, and I'm already considering grabbing the 1+1 offers @Jolse Cosmetic...
But I may chicken out because I'm so scared of the potential side and long-term effects :(((

Thanks a lot guys, still I really would like to hear your opinion, in the name of science and mochi hada xoxoxo

    1. Hello there, Bonbon! Thank you for the compliment and sorry for the late reply. I hope my answer below would be helpful ^^

It's been more than half a year since I've used this cream by now and I still use it as a primer before applying my BB cream or CC cream when I don't feel wearing heavy makeup. Until now, I've attended so many interview session which required me to wear this cream so that my makeup will stay put for the whole day. No bad reaction, the cream still has the same texture as it was half a year ago.

However, if I could give an advice to you, please try not to wear primer in daily basis (this is counted as a primer for me because of the silicones and not to mention the SPF). Only wear it when you feel like you need it. That's true the enviable mochi hada effect you say *LOL* is too tempting. Honestly I would love my skin to look that smooth everyday too, but for the skin's own health, I guess the silicones alone is not good.

As I have oily T-zone, I didn't have major problem with alcohol, because I do use Etude House Wonder Pore that has pretty high alcohol in it and I'm loving that stuff cause it works like wonder. Seeing you have dry combination skin, I know how alcohol may not be suitable for your skin, therefore making you hesitate to buy the full version of this tube.

Good news is, there is a small size tube for it, so you don't have to be committed with the 75g. By the way, have you tried the blue version? Maybe you should try it too and then compare which one would work the best for your skin.

      Good luck!
